As we left the North Kinangop Region to head to Nairobi to fly to Kisumu on the shores of Lake Victoria, we stopped at the Neema Children's Home. There we were greeted by scores of smiling and quizzical faces. These are children that have been left homeless by the death of the parents and have been picked up and brought there by Madame Catherine on whose property the Home exists.
Madame Catherine was for years the principal at one of the
premier schools in Kenya. After retiring 10 years ago the Lord Jesus gave her a
vision of ministry to help the lost children of the area. Since that time and
with the support of the local churches like Jesus Revival Centre she has
built a wonderful facility to house the children as well as school them. They
are taught in the ways of our Lord on a daily basis. To see this work, brought
tears to our hearts. That this type of place would exist in such a place.
There are also plans for a Secondary School (High School) of which the foundations have been laid. To see this place gives the reality to the statement that Jesus made when He said,
"Suffer little
children, and
forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 19:14
