We woke to more rain as Carl T. led in our devotions. Philippians 2 was some of the text that was shared. We are to let this mind be in us which was first in Christ. Our breakfast consisted of the greatest oatmeal again along with fresh fruit. With this we were once again ready to head out to the seminar to continue with The Gifts of the Spirit.
Pastor
A.R. Oliver of Elohim Christian Center in Hamden, CT was the first
speaker of the day. He shared on the Ministry of the Holy Spirit in the Old and
New Testament. It was a powerful testimony of the Word of God as he took us from
the beginning to show us that the same spirit was the spirit that worked in them
that works in us today. The question session was filled with a couple hardball
questions where all the teachers assisted in answering them. It is great to see
how all the body is fitly joined together to help and assist with that which
every joint supplies.
After
the soda break we then had Pastor Dave teach the class on the benefits of
Speaking in Tongues. At the same time the women in the seminar headed off to the
mezzanine to be taught by Sis. Amy Dillard and Madame Linda Scovel. Amy
shared on the testimony of her life and how God called her to a purpose. She
shared how she had been a worship leader at fourteen years of age but by the
time she was eighteen she fell away for a period of time. She shared how the
Lord continued to work with her and bring her once again to lead worship
before the great King, Jezi Kris.
After
Sis. Amy shared, M. Linda also shared on the benefits of Speaking in Tongues.
Here were husband and wife both speaking on the same topic. No one was being
missed. This was an important topic so that the ministers and leaders would see
the need to speak in tongues in their life. During David's teaching he had to
rebuke the spirit of slumber which overtook the congregation. As soon as this
happened the eyes were opened and they were able to receive the instruction that
was needed.
After the teachings we led 12 more minister/leader men into the baptism of the Holy Spirit down on the main floor. Up in the balcony 10 women were led into the baptism. The Lord fills those who ask to receive. Some received immediately, while some needed some hands on instruction and prayer. Praise God through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Praise
God we didn't take any questions after the class. It was already late and P.
Phares needed to head off to Radio Lumiere to handle his once a week
radio program with P. Lunice. He took Pastors David and Oliver along to what we
thought was watch. On the way there, P. Phares asked who was preaching. We both
looked at each and David said that his voice was gone, so P. Oliver said he
would preach on the "weather." We all went, "the Weather?"
It turns out he shared on 1 Thessalonians 4.13-18 and included the weather as a
sign of the coming of the Lord. He finished early and during a music break P.
Phares said that it was short and that we still had twelve minutes to go. So we
improvised by having a discussion of what P. Oliver had said. It turned out to
be a good time in all of us discussing this great truth of the Word of God.
After
that we headed out to the service where we had good worship and then Bill Bowe
shared the message on 1 Corinthians 12 on the thorn in the flesh and the grace
to overcome. For in my weakness, He is strong. After service we headed home for
a supper of chicken soup with dumplings. Mmmm, mmmm, good is our Lord Jesus.
