Devotions began at seven-thirty as we have to be at the church at
eight-thirty. Linda led the devotions at the breakfast table. She covered how we
need to seek the Lord to as one in dry and thirsty land. Our breakfast consisted
of eggs, fruit and rolls. It was very nice and refreshing. We headed off early
to the Church Service which was going to begin at 8:30 a.m. The worship time was
excellent. A nice time in the Lord.
Pastor Oliver preached a dynamic sermon on Revelation 1 with John on the isle
of Patmos. How John was in a trial. He referred to the people of Haiti on the
island in a trial. Yet in the midst of the trial, John received a heavenly
vision. One of power and glory. The people of Haiti in their trial should look
to see a heavenly vision from the Lord. P. Oliver shared how he had died and saw
the Lord but Jesus told him that he was going to have fulfilled all that had
been promised. So he was sent back and came back to life. He had received a
heavenly vision. He also prophesied that in two years there would be a mighty
work of God that would happen in Haiti. Later he called for 3 ladies with
stomach type problems to come forward to be prayed for. Many more than three
came forth and he was there for a while praying and casting out demons while the
church looked on. Praise be unto God!
David
preached the nighttime service. His text for the evening was Acts 17 when Paul
was at Athens. He shared on how Paul starts by showing the sovereignty of God
(Creator) and then the relational aspect (Lord, as a landowner, the earth is the
Lord's and the fullness) to His creation. With that in mind, the Scriptures
there say that He has made all men of one (blood) and that He knows where He has
placed us and the bounds of people's habitation. Why were some born in the USA
and some in Haiti. Because of a Sovereign God. We were all born for the purpose
that no matter where we were born, we ARE to seek for God and grope and feel for
Him that we may FIND Him. All of us are where we are to seek and find the Lord.
Ecclesiastes 11.3 tells us something very similar.
If the clouds are full, they pour out rain upon the earth; and whether a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, wherever the tree falls, there it lies.
The preaching was finished up with a reading of the rewards that are
mentioned of in Revelation 2 & 3 that the overcomer is able to attain.
Anyone can overcome their trials. There are not degrees of overcoming per se,
but if given a thirty fold lot then you overcome that. Given a hundred fold lot
then you overcome that. Overcoming is overcoming with no other stipulation or
degrees. We can all attain the promise of being joint-heirs with Christ if
we suffer with Him. The rewards are the same, yet we must remember that
to whom much is given much also required. If we in the USA have been given so
much, then the Lord God is going to hold us more accountable for what we did
with what we had. Amen.
We headed back home after many goodbyes to our friends where we enjoyed
Haitian Pizza made by Momi Beau all with some fried turkey and rice. Then we
made sure we were all set with our packing and headed off to sleep, ready for an
early rise.
